ARTIFICAL INSEMINATION

Only vets and DEFRA Approved AI Technicians may perform artificial insemination in mares; having 2 technicians on site ensures we are fully qualified and experienced to provide this service. Having vets on site 2-3x a week enable us to monitor your mare's oestrus cycle, manipulate it if necessary and time insemination to provide optimum conditions for a successful pregnancy.

We are able to collect fresh semen off of our Shire stallions to inseminate directly into your mare, this is ideal for smaller framed mares that may not be able to cope with having a larger stallion cover them naturally. It is also ideal for mares that may not respond well to the stallion and be a possible danger to them or the stallion. We are now offering a NFFR on stallions used for AI, whether with chilled or fresh semen on site, subject to our T&C's.

We are also open to mares of any breed, for our stallions or any stallion. We can keep your mare and have semen posted to us for insemination, working alongside our vets to ensure your mare is prepared and ready.

All mares must have a service agreement completed and signed prior to/on arrival to the stud. Please either fill in the online version or print a copy and bring with you. The stud fee must be paid on arrival, for mares coming to our own stallions, and all other fees paid before the mare leaves.
